Anyways missionary life. ITS been goooooood!! We have had a wonderful week of miracles and the Lord has been very good to us.
Tuesday was a normal fun happy day with us meeting with Sato San and the Yoshida family. We taught Sato san the Plan of Salvation and she really loved it. Her Japanese is crazy hard because she has really old Japanese (she is 79) but she is so sweet and patient with us. She said that she wants to live with her husband again and see him in heaven. She believes everything we tell her and she tries her best to keep her commitments. We extended a later baptismal date to her but she is just so nervsou about it. We dont know why but we will figure it out soon. :) Later that night we went to the Yoshida's. The parents got baptized within the last year and they are a wonderful family. The kids are all too young to get baptized but they are excited for when they can. The dad has been having heart problems and the ward told us to check up on them every once in a while. We shared the "Mountains to Climb" video the mom and daughters and got to know them better. It was a wonderful night and we love them. The way home was a different story. The neighbors near by them had a pretty scary dog....terrifying. WHY IS IT ALWAYS THE MEAN DOGS AROUND THE MEMBER'S HOUSES?
Nanako has been struggling with her relationship with the members and hasnt come to the church in a couple months. She came for the first time on Wednesday and we sang songs with her in the chapel ad it was really nice we gave her a pep talk for coming to church on Sunday and I think she is really going to come! On Sunday we were waiting for her in all of our meetings and the members were all expecting her and we were all soo sad. After Sacrament was over we were talking to the members and then one of the Elders comes running up to us saying that Nanako Shimai is here! We were so happpy! We ran down the stairs and she was standing in front of the front doors and we grabbed her hands and led her up the stairs to the chapel and she was blushing like crazy, she kept on saying, "I am so nervous of what they will think of me." We assured that they will be so happy to see her and as soon as we got upstairs the members were sooooo good. They all welcomed her back with open arms and were so glad to see her again. She looked really happy and she was at the church talking with the members until 6 o clock that night. It was amazing!
On Wednesday we met with Ai and she is just so wonderful! We showed her the restoration video and invited her to baptism afterwards and she said that she would if she understands everything first. She doesn't know that much about jesus christ but she said she would when she gains a testimony of him. We set the date for Dec. 14. Airin (her best friend/member) hopes its not too soon but we will pray and see. Ai chan has so much light about her and we are praying hard for her.
Mom you were asking about Rika, she is doing okay we are sending her messages on facebook everyday and trying to give her as many spiritual experiences as we can so she can recognize the spirit. She has a hard time recognizing her feelings so we might have to postpone the date. But she has soo much support behind her. We had one of her member friends send her a message and bear her testimony to her so we are hoping she can feel support that way. Just keep praying for her. Haruka (the girl that was scared of mormons) she is totally cool with everything now and she is the one that we went out to ice cream with in my last email. She is coming to church this sunday :)
Saturday was a bomb day! We got in contact with so many less actives and we able to strengthen them so much! We visited Chichibu Shimai and she is paralyzed and the missionaries 10 years ago baptized her and she really didnt understand it all so now we are just trying to strengthen her faith and help her understand why she got baptized. We showed her the "Will of God" video and bore testimony of the fact even though hard things happen in our lives, god knows what he wants us to be and it always for the best. She asked us to bear our testimonys about the church. So we did our best to bear witness of God's love for her and his plan for her and the spirit was so strong and she was smiling big. I think she liked it :)
We also visited Higashionna Shimai who is a less active filipina and she is wonderful! Buut she is working really hard right now to pay for her son's college and she wants to come to church so bad but the people in her care center have to have her there every sunday. It makes her sad but she loves serving people. We showed her the "Mountains to Climb" video and she said it fits perfectly with her life. She said she is going to try andd pray and read the book of mormon more often so she can have the spirit more present in her life. We love her!
On Saturday night we had dinner with the Mizuguchi family and the middle daughter jusst got home from her misssion and she taught us a whole bunch of teaching skills annd object lessons. It was so good and it made her really excited to help us with our work. I love her so much! The mom is a YW leader and so we got to talk to her about Ai cchan for a while and she is soooo pumped up to help Ai chan work towards baptism!
On Sunday, Christa, (not-so-less-active anymore member) got her temple recommend!!!! WHOOOOOO! We are going to go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead with her next saturday.. SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!
GOD IS GOOD. I LOVE YOU ALL. I WISH I WAS BETTER AT WRITING EMAILS. BUT HEY. THE CHURCH IS TRUE AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS. PEACE.
LLOVE, SISTER STAPLES!!
